The Innovation Center was a 2-story addition with Art/Graphics and Fabrication Labs. Demolition of a 28,500 SF building was part of this project. The existing building was in the footprint of the new building and had 10 phases, including 2 summer crunch phases required.
Site work included new track surfacing, ADA bleacher upgrades, added parking lots, temporary facilities for kitchen/cafeteria and classrooms. The renovation scope of services was multi-phased and included a complete remodel of the two-story Education and Administration wing, performing arts and auditorium upgrades, new security office, locker room upgrades, new swimming pool liner and equipment upgrades, new roofing, new exterior windows, new building automation system, new lighting, new fire alarm and new PA system.
There are numerous examples of GH Phipps’ high-quality workmanship evident in the Windsor High School project. Polished concrete used at the dining commons required tremendous amounts of protection and care. GH Phipps implemented a triple layer of protection onto the concrete floor to allow the many trades to complete high overhead work without damage to the concrete. The complete demolition and replacement of the existing swimming pool is a focal point of the project. Through extensive efforts, the old pool was carefully removed from the building and a new Olympic size pool was completed.
