City and County of Denver–Wellington E. Webb Municipal Office Building Renovation

GH Phipps was selected by the City and County of Denver as general contractor overseeing the $90 million phased renovation of the Wellington E. Webb Municipal Office Building at 201 West Colfax Avenue in downtown Denver, CO.

Interior renovations will focus on 11 of the building’s 12 stories and include replacement of finishes and furnishings in staff open and private offices, conference rooms, break areas, and public interface spaces as well as elevator modernization and upgrades to meet current building codes and ADA requirements. The project will also provide limited upgrades to the mechanical and electrical and data and technology systems. 

Named for the first African American mayor of Denver, the Wellington E. Webb Municipal Office Building first opened in 2002 and currently houses the majority of offices, departments, and services for the City and County of Denver. Renovations began in late 2023 and are expected to be completed by September 2025.
