Anythink Nature Library

ABOUT

GH Phipps is building a transformative space where community, culture, and nature converge—the Anythink Nature Library, a one-of-a-kind facility rooted in ecological connection and environmental stewardship.

Inspired by the Environment Kinship Guide, the library’s design honors the interconnectedness of all life and affirms our shared role as cohabiters of the natural world. This philosophy is reflected not only in the space itself but in the process: An advisory council of Indigenous and Native American leaders from the Denver metro area has guided the design, lending critical insight and cultural perspective.

Located within the 15-acre Aylor Open Lands in Thornton, this 33,000 SF facility will seamlessly blend indoor and outdoor experiences. Key features include:

  • Nature-forward programming spaces, including a nature lab, sunroom, and dark room designed for active exploration and quiet reflection.

  • Exterior gardens and an open-air kinship garden that invite hands-on interaction with nature and art.

  • A one-mile trail loop and trailhead connecting to the surrounding 140-acre Aylor trail system.

  • A café with indoor/outdoor seating to foster community gathering.

  • Curated materials and TryIts tailored to outdoor learning, exploration, and environmental literacy.

Sustainability is at the heart of the project. Aiming to become Thornton’s most energy-efficient building, the library will feature a geothermal field, a fully electric mechanical system, and LED lighting throughout. The project is pursuing LEED Gold certification.

Currently under construction, Anythink Nature Library is more than a building—it’s an experience, a sanctuary, and a celebration of our place in the natural world.
