about
The new 69,000-square-foot Marshdale Elementary School replaces the original facility with a modern, student-focused learning environment that embraces its mountain setting. Designed by Hord Coplan Macht and completed in October 2022, the $15.5 million single-story school blends functionality, energy efficiency, and natural beauty.
Inside, classrooms and common areas—including the gymnasium, performance arts space, and cafeteria—offer a contemporary atmosphere that supports creativity and collaboration. Administrative areas were reimagined to give educators a stronger platform for teaching excellence. The school now includes a dedicated preschool wing, a dynamic Makerspace for hands-on, project-based learning, and small group rooms to support personalized instruction.
Outside, the campus features redesigned playground structures, an artificial turf field, and interactive play spaces surrounded by native, water-conscious landscaping. Upgraded traffic management patterns improve safety and flow, while mountain views and a warm, natural aesthetic connect students to their environment. Every classroom is filled with daylight, reflecting the project’s emphasis on sustainability and well-being.
Construction began in June 2021 and was delivered on time in October 2022, providing the Marshdale community with a vibrant, forward-looking place to learn and grow.
