This fast-tracked project added 150 beds to the East Tower. The tower is composed of a ten-story horizontal and vertical expansion. Upon opening, 94 new beds became available for patient care, with 170K SF of shelled space for later expansion. The West Additions and Remodels include 12,000 SF of additional space and 89,000 SF of renovated space in the existing Children’s Hospital Colorado. In addition, the East Tower, West Additions, and Remodels include space for the Maternal/Fetal Health Institute of Colorado Laboratory, a pharmacy, the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders, Orthopedics, Neurosciences, Digestive Health, Respiratory, PICU, CICU, CPCU, and NICU departments. The East Tower was designed to be LEED Certified.
