Case Study: Sport Haus

Challenge: BRS Architecture wanted to partner with a general contractor on a concept design for a large sports tournament facility called Sport Haus. The team knew that lean construction was going to be the best methodology for the project, so they approached GH Phipps. The developer had a vision for the project but no design that would get the project done on time and under budget.

Solution: GH Phipps utilized a target value design to help design the project within the parameters of the budget. This tactic improved the project because the architecture understood how the different design features affected cost in advance of designing.

Exceptional Building Experience: By utilizing a lean construction decision making process, called “choosing by advantage” the team was able to identify critical factors that influenced the overall outcome of the development resulting in team alignment and reduced costs.
