This project involved renovating 75% of the existing high school space including media center, gym, locker rooms, cafeteria, student center, instrumental music room, special education spaces, chemistry lab, engineering classrooms, consumer/family studies, general classrooms, and circulation corridors. It also required partial HVAC retrofit and re-roofing, as well as replacing fire alarms, and modernizing the existing fire protection system. We also replaced the generator, upgraded the lighting systems, upgraded the A/V and secutiry systems and provided smart classrooms in some renovated areas. Finally, we replaced and upgraded the entry plaza and enhanced architecture and secutiry at the main and auxiliary entrances.

Spangenberg is the center of the school’s athletic complex, which hosts football, lacrosse, soccer and track events. The $4.1 million project had a lot of moving parts, including a new turf field, a new track surface with an expanded 8th lane, a newly constructed ticket booth, a renovated restroom building (5,500 sf), new paint on the press box, a drainage retention pond south of the gym, and a resurfaced asphalt parking lot. The site work consisted of the stadium outbuilding and running track renovation/replacement, replacement of tennis courts and other ancillary work and new ticket building.
