Roger Treichler has been with GH Phipps Construction Companies for 20 years, beginning as a project engineer. Currently Roger serves as the Director of our Special Projects Division.
His career at Phipps is a study in flexibility: stints as Project Engineer, Estimator, Assistant Project Manager, and Project Manager/Estimator, culminating in his appointment as manager, and later director, of Special Projects. From major jobs – the Auraria Higher Education Center Tivoli Student Union Revitalization, the University of Denver’s Nagel Hall, key capital improvements at the Denver Botanic Gardens – he became immersed in a flurry of projects that keeps his staff on the move.
Since its founding, Phipps has supported a program for special projects. Roger has worked to expand its reach over the last six years. Special Projects has become a resource for long-time clients, as well as a division that seeks out new clients and demonstrates Phipps’ work ethic and innovative approaches.
Roger graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in secondary social studies and history from the State University of New York at Cortland. He worked in civil engineering for the Town of Lewiston, New York, and taught before moving to Colorado and joining GH Phipps. He maintains a LEED AP BD+C, is ASHE Certified, and serves on the GH Phipps Board of Directors.
“Our approach in Special Projects at Phipps is, ‘We won’t tell you what you can’t do. We will tell you what you can do.’ We always look for what is possible, and if there’s something in the way, how do we work around it or resolve it?”
Roger lives in Arvada with his wife and dog, and in his off-work hours enjoys playing ice hockey and skiing.
